On the occasion of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2013 in Schladming, an extraordinary steel structure was erected in the finishing arena of the Planai Stadium – the Skygate. In total, 130 tons of steel were used for the 32-meter-high steel framework build of circular hollow sections and inclined at approx. 30 ° to the vertical.
At a height of about 14 m, a cased platform was produced. 9 bored piles, each 20m in length, allow the bow anchored on one side to project 35 meters above the target slope of the Planai.
