The Johann Joseph Fux Conservatory in Graz consists of two buildings from different eras. It already was extended in 1975 to create additional music rooms.
After 50 years of use as a music school, the listed building ensemble underwent general refurbishment in 2008.
The challenge in the executional planning was to constantly integrate new knowledge and changing boundary conditions during the construction phase into the planning and execution. This required close cooperation between the various planners and the contractors.
